After three consecutive wins in the NJCAA Division II Region X Softball Tournament this weekend, your Hurricanes are Region X Champions. The #2 Hurricanes beat #8 Catawba Valley in run-rule fashion, 9-0, to take home the Region X Hardware.

"I'm incredibly proud of this group who had a perfect 3-0 record on the weekend," said Coach Eric Lee. 

Throughout those three games, the ‘canes outscored their opponents 26-2, had six long balls, and had no errors. The tournament sweep also continued the team's winning streak, which now stands at 55 games.

The Team will travel to the Region 8 Champion, Lake Sumter State College, for the NJCAA DII South Atlantic District Championship Series in Florida May 12-14, 2023. The winner of the district tournament will earn a bid to the National Tournament at Tyger River Park in Spartanburg, SC, on May 23-27, 2023.

Region X All-Region Team Members Announced

Six members of the Louisburg College softball team have been named to the NJCAA Division II Region X (10) All-Region team.

1st Team All-Region

• Zoey Jones - Pitcher*
• Brianna Tucker - Infielder**
• Edi Austin - Infielder
• Darrah Nickens - Designated Player
• Kennedy Byrd - Utility Player

Two members of the team also received individual awards; Zoey Jones, Region X Pitcher of the Year*; Brianna Tucker, Region X Player of the Year**.
