Federal Work Study
Employment Provided to Students as part of their Financial Aid Package
Federal Work-Study provides students with valuable part-time work experiences and the opportunity to earn funds to assist with educational expenses. Eligibility is based on a student’s financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and federal funding availability.
All students (new and returning) eligibility must be verified every year before they can begin work. Students are allowed 8 work hours per week at the $7.25 per hour pay rate. Students may use the Louisburg College Work Study Application to apply for on-campus jobs of their preference.
Students apply online for work-study by visiting the departments and positions below, which describe available positions. Students can apply for up to three jobs with one application by clicking on the "FWS Application" link below or in the gray navigation bar.
Students complete the application, indicating job preferences, and submit it. The appropriate supervisor will call qualified applicants for a job interview. The work-study coordinator makes final determinations from the pool of applicants in each department and notifies students of the results. Selected work-study students must complete all required paperwork and attend a mandatory work-study orientation session before beginning work. The coordinator will send the student the required paperwork and orientation dates in advance.
The remaining pool of applicants will remain on a Work-Study waiting list.
