Resident Advisors
Resident Advisors, or RAs, are paraprofessional staff members in Housing & Residence Life. RAs are hired, trained, and supervised by the Resident Directors and Assistant Directors.

RAs live on each floor in every residence hall on campus. They are on the frontline when residential students need assistance, whether in response to an emergency or crisis, or seeking campus resources and information.

RAs obtain a variety of important, transferable skills through frequent training. Most importantly, RAs work to build positive residential communities that are inclusive, as well as conducive to academic success. These young men and women, along with Residence Life staff and Campus Safety, also have a great responsibility in safeguarding campus policies to ensure that the residence halls are safe and secure.

Please review the RA job description and the timeline below. If you believe that you possess the dedication and sense of responsibility we are seeking, you are strongly encouraged to apply by filling out our online application! Do you have questions about the application? Let us know!

 Diversity Peer Educators

Diversity Peer Educators, or DPEs, are paraprofessional staff members in Housing & Residence Life. DPEs are hired, trained, and supervised by the Director and Assistant Director for Diversity & Inclusion. DPEs receive diversity training and meet regularly with their supervisor to discuss social justice topics, current affairs, and campus trends. DPEs frequently plan and engage in various activities including, but not limited to the Louisburg Listens dialogue series, Hispanic heritage month, holiday-palooza, black history month, and women’s history month.

DPEs also frequently research and discuss social justice topics and current affairs in order to plan quality programs or initiatives, as well as educate their peers on campus. DPEs learn more about their individual identities, as well as how to appreciate differences. DPEs also gain valuable skills such as interpersonal communication, critical thinking, advocacy, public speaking, and event planning.

Please note the following:

  • Commuting and residential students are eligible to apply.
  • All communications regarding the DPE recruitment and selecting process are made via Louisburg College email.
