Dr. Sangsoon Koh

Sangsoon Koh holds a PhD in International Business from Columbus University.

Koh has been a faculty member at Louisburg College since 2011, teaching CIS, Accounting, and Self-Defense/Martial Arts courses. He brings a unique combination of academic expertise, industry leadership and real-world experience to the classroom.

Prior to joining Louisburg, Koh spent nearly three decades in the automotive industry. From 1982 to 1996, he held engineering and technical leadership positions with major automotive manufacturers. He later served in international operations and customer accounting with Detroit Diesel Overseas Corporation, overseeing business development, dealer networks and strategic partnerships throughout Asia from 1996 to 2010.

Koh earned his MSA in Administration from Central Michigan University, and MS in Engineering from Wayne State University. His professional interests include investment analysis, international business, accounting, digital literacy, financial management and leadership development.

In addition to his academic career, Koh has taught Taekwondo and self-defense for more than 45 years. He is a 9th-degree Black Belt, National VP of the U.S. Taekwondo Grandmasters Society and a Taekwondo Hall of Fame inductee. He is passionate about helping students connect classroom concepts with real-world business, technology and leadership experiences while developing the discipline, confidence and skills needed for lifelong success.
