Samuel Flowers earned his Master’s of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington.
Flowers earned his B.A. in history from UNC-Charlotte and his M.A. in American History from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Flowers' career at Louisburg College started right at the start of the 2024-2025 academic year and regularly teaches American History, World Civilization II, and Special Topics that range in a variety of topics.
Outside of Louisburg College, Flowers is active in publishing both traditional and nontraditional works. He writes for Emerging Civil War, a public history-oriented platform for sharing original scholarship on the American Civil War. He is also collaborating with a coauthor to create a manuscript titled The Civil War in Statuary Hall, which will use the chamber's statues as a case study of the nation's changing landscape of memory and memorialization.
Aside from history, Flowers enjoys playing drums in his free time. During the 2019-2020 NFL season, he played snare drum for the Carolina Panthers Drumline, "Purcussion." He also enjoys teaching high school students at South Garner High School during the summer/fall marching band season.
