Laura Wittman holds a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School.
She serves as Chaplain and adjunct faculty member at Louisburg College, where she teaches courses in Old Testament, New Testament, and Religion in America while leading campus spiritual life through chapel, mentoring, and community engagement. An ordained Elder in Full Connection in The United Methodist Church’s North Carolina Conference, she brings nearly two decades of ministry experience in congregational leadership, church planting, discipleship, and higher education.
Wittman earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy from High Point University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at United Theological Seminary with a concentration in Fresh Expressions and Future Church. Her doctoral work explores spiritual formation, belonging, and community building through innovative ministry models, including tabletop role-playing games and gaming communities.
In addition to her work in ministry and higher education, Wittman is a published curriculum writer and ministry author. She authored the student edition of Adult Bible Studies: Winter 2024–2025 and has written curriculum for Adult Bible Studies: Spring 2027, contributed as a video curriculum writer and participant for the Winter 2026–2027 series, and written for The United Methodist Church on theology, creativity, and gaming culture, including the articles “Navigating the Starfield” and “For the Love of Gaming.” She has also presented nationally at the Fresh Expressions National Gathering, leading workshops on gaming, belonging, and community formation through tabletop ministry.
