Jordan Terry received her master’s degree in English from Winthrop University in 2023. She has not stopped learning since. She encourages her students to do the same. 

Terry specializes in African American literature and Writing Studies. She is also the director of the Louisburg College Writing Center. Here at Louisburg, she teaches our freshman composition course, Writing & Inquiry, and African American Literature regularly. In the spring of 2026, she taught the inaugural English special topics course which focused on the life and works of Ernest Hemingway. 

An active member of the Carolinas Writing Program Administrators organization and the Southeastern Writing Center Association, Terry participates in attending conferences and presenting her scholarship annually. She also founded the Undergraduate American Arts Conference here at Louisburg College with the support of Victor R. Small Trust. In her free time she enjoys reading Audre Lorde in the sunshine.
