The Office of the Registrar provides information about registration, academic records, and degrees while protecting the privacy of the student. We are located on the second floor of the Davis building in room 203.

The Office of the Registrar is a member of several Louisburg College campus-wide committees working with academic advisors and department chairs to ensure that they uphold college policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities of the Office of the Registrar include the planning and execution of registration of students, assigning of classroom space, authorizing grades, issuing transcripts, certifying degrees, creating  articulation agreements, mailing diplomas, communicating FERPA guidelines to parents and students, and maintaining the comprehensive academic management system's registration module.

FERPA

The United States enacted the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) in 1974. The primary purpose of FERPA is to protect the privacy of student information. Louisburg College faculty, staff and administrative officers control access to and disclosure of student’s educational records as defined under FERPA regulations.

Articulation Agreements

A significant part of the mission of Louisburg College is to provide a bridge for students to make a successful transition from high school to senior colleges and universities. In order to help students achieve this transition, Louisburg College works with other colleges and universities to create articulation agreements. An articulation agreement is an official guarantee that classes completed at one school are accepted when a student transfers to another school. Articulation agreements are essentially a partnership between two institutions to recognize credits toward a degree. Articulation agreements can include financial awards for students. For further information regarding specific articulation agreements, please contact the Registrar's Office.
