The Louisburg College Dance Company presents its 2018 Concert at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st at the Seby B. Jones Performing Arts Center (JPAC). Admission is free of charge.

The two-night’s-only event features contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, and dance improvisation. Bringing the art of dance to Louisburg College, the Dance Company’s show is a collaboration between live dance, art and music. It features the art of Jane Bolmeier and a live music performance by Louisburg College instructor of music Angela Adkins.

Projection Designer Jennifer Petuch, an instructor at Florida State University, collaborated Louisburg College’s Director of Dance Ryan P. McMullen on the concert, which also features an Aretha Franklin tribute.

McMullen and Tara Robbins will also entertain the audience with an excerpt from the piece "FIRM,” which explores the idea of musical visualization.

“The work is both neurotic and dynamic and hints at the high demands of the daily grind in the workplace while showcasing the physicality of the human body,” McMullen said.

Featured in the concert is guest artist, Jenna Marie Hanlon, who will be teaching master classes to Louisburg Dance Company throughout the week, as well as performing a new duet with McMullen.

Finally, the concert will include an emotional duet piece "Let Him Go," which is a collaboration between McMullen and Taari Coleman, a professor of creative writing at Louisburg College.
