Louisburg College held its Annual Commencement exercise on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Students, family, and friends arrived at the JPAC for the 11:00 a.m. exercise that honored and celebrated the Louisburg College Class of 2026. This year, 112 graduates walked across the stage to receive their Associate degrees in General College, General Science, Business, Agricultural Studies, Environmental Science, Health Science, Medical Science, and Sports Science.

Student Speaker Karma, an honors graduate who earned her Associates of Arts in General College, and Guest Speaker Parker Lumpkin, a lawyer and close associate of the Board of Trustees, graced the stage to encourage the graduating class while reflecting on the hard work and dedication they showcased while earning their degrees. 

This year marks College President Dr. Gary Brown’s last Commencement exercise as head of Louisburg College. Dr. Brown will be retiring from the position at the end of May, giving way to Richard Campbell, the College’s new president. Dr. and Mrs. Brown were honored at graduation by Dr. Jeff Elwell, VP of Academics, faculty and staff with honorary degrees. These degrees were Associates of Arts in Humane Arts, gifted to the Browns as thanks for their amazing service to the College and campus community.

Commencement was the height of many graduation weekend events, which started on Friday, May 15.
