Members of the campus community and LC alumni are invited to a special celebration at 3 p.m., Tuesday, December 1 in the Jones Performing Arts Center (JPAC) on campus to honor the 2015 Hurricanes men's soccer team. The Canes won 23 consecutive matches en route to the school's first national championship in men's soccer. Louisburg clinched the NJCAA Division I title with a 1-0 overtime win over Tyler Junior College on November 21 in Axton, Va.

The Hurricanes led the nation in goal scoring and shut out their opponents in 10 matches this season. The team finished the year with a 24-1 overall record, and was ranked #1 in the country for a majority of the season. Louisburg's Max Blackmore led the country in scoring with 35 goals and was named Most Valuable Player at the national tournament, and head coach Martin Dell was named Most Outstanding Coach at the tournament.

Players and coaches from this year's team will be on hand at the JPAC Tuesday afternoon to meet members of the community, LC alumni and the media. We hope you'll make plans to stop by to congratulate the Hurricanes on their outstanding season and national title run!
