Louisburg College has earned unequivocal reaffirmation of its accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The news, delivered to Louisburg College President Mark La Branche on June 16, is one more indication that the school, the only two-year residential college remaining in North Carolina, is financially healthy and offers a quality education.
A team from SACS visited the campus in October to measure Louisburg College’s compliance with standards in areas such as academic affairs and finance. It came away with no recommendations for improvement.
The reaffirmation means Louisburg College is fully accredited for the next 10 years and next goes through the process in 2026. Accreditation is required for colleges and universities to receive federal funding for student aid.
Dr. La Branche said the vote by SACS “affirms the passionate commitment and work of our staff, faculty, trustees, alumni and friends who have all been an integral part of the recent revival of our beloved College.”
