MEN'S BASKETBALL FINISHES IN SEVENTH PLACE

canes logo DANVILLE, IL - The #2 seeded Louisburg College men's basketball team wrapped up play at the 2013 NJCAA National Championship Tournament with a 74-69 win over #1 Mott Community College (Michigan), Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Hurricanes finish with a 3-1 record at the tournament and seventh place overall.

Sophomore guards Paul Stone (Danville, VA/Dan River HS) and Kevin Williams (Franklinton, NC/Franklinton HS) led the 'Canes in scoring as Stone dropped 18 on 5-9 shooting, while Williams scored 14 on 5-10 shooting. Stone also went 3-3 from beyond the arc while Williams went 2-4 in treys.

Sophomore forwards, LaShawn Alexander (Norfolk, VA/Booker T. Washington HS) and Tyquan Roberts (Greensboro, NC/Ragsdale HS) also hit for double-digits as Roberts scored 13 and Alexander 12.

The Hurricanes put a close to a 2012-13 season where they finished with an overall record of 35-2.
