MEN'S BASKETBALL ADVANCES TO CONSOLATION FINAL

canes logo DANVILLE, IL - The Louisburg College men's basketball team advanced to the consolation final at the 2013 NJCAA National Championship Tournament with a 69-66 win over Howard College (Maryland), Friday afternoon. With the win, #3 LC moves on to play #1 Mott Community College (Michigan) at 1:00 pm local time tomorrow. The winner of the consolation final will finish in 7th place in the 16 team tournament while the loser finishes in 8th.

Kevin Williams (Franklinton, NC/Franklinton HS) led the 'Canes in Friday's contest where he scored 19 points on 8-16 shooting. The guard also had four steals and dished out a pair of assists. Forward Terance Christian (Albemarle, NC/Albemarle HS) finished just behind Williams as he scored 18 on 6-10 shooting. The big man also went 6-10 from the free throw line, pulled down eight boards and made three steals.
