Glendora Powell Lecture Series Presents "The Many Faces of God" with Arthur Banks

Arthur Banks

The Glendora Powell Lecture Series presents 'Namaste: The Two Faces of God' with Arthur Banks on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:00 pm. Arthur will speak about his experiences with the Buddhist and Hindu faiths. He also will guide the audience in a short meditation.

The son of an Ordained Baptist Minister, Arthur has, for almost half a century, studied, practiced, and guided people in explorations of thought, practices, and traditional teachings from India, Tibet, and China. He established and led meditation groups, guided Hatha Yoga experiences and retreats across the USA, and was an administrator of a Buddhist monastery. Initially engaging in Hatha Yoga through a television series by Richard Hittleman and Lilias Folan, he went on to study with some of the more prominent teachers of the time - Baba Ram Das, Swami Kriyananda, and Swami Vishnudevananda. Arthur spent eight years of formal study in Tibetan Buddhism with Takster Rinpoche and maintained a close friendship with him for over 30 years.
