Prospective Hurricane Men's Golfers

Louisburg College will be recruiting several golfers to help fill its roster each semester for the upcoming golf seasons. The team is composed of three playing squads and hosts matches at both The River Golf & Country Club at Lake Royale near Bunn and Bull Creek Golf & Country Club near Louisburg. Louisburg College hosts 2-4 home matches each season and hosts the 54-hole Louisburg Iron Team Clash combination medal/modified Stableford competition golf tournament each fall season. Each spring Louisburg College hosts the 36-hole Hurricane Fusillade Challenge combination medal/modified match play golf tournament, played in four 9-hole increments. Both tournaments are usually played at one of the two courses listed above.

Louisburg College plays as a member of Golfstat®, recording individual statistics for all golfers. The team plays in both the fall and spring semesters in 5-7 tournaments and 16-20 matches during approximately a 12-week period in the fall and a 12-week period in the spring season. Organized practice is Monday through Thursday with many tournaments and matches played on weekends. Most of the golfers live together in one of the remodeled Louisburg College residence halls on campus, with most of their classes scheduled in the morning hours.

Striving to win the National Championship each year, Louisburg College will play a strong, competitive golf schedule with other teams from NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA Division I, II, and III programs. The golf program focuses on helping to give each student-athlete a competitive advantage in golf and in academics. This team concept teaches each student-athlete success on the golf course, in the classroom, and for life.

Following each Open House event, the golf team sponsors a skills demonstration each afternoon throughout the fall and spring season. You are also encouraged to fill out and return the Golf Information Sheet so that Coach Sloan can know of your interest in the golf program and have advance contact information.
