Lee Fowler Scholar Student-Athletes - Feb. 9, 2010

The annual Lee Fowler Scholar athlete awards presentation was held Tuesday, February 9th following the women’s basketball victory over Brunswick Community College, 99-48.  The Lee Fowler Scholar-Athlete Awards Program was established at Louisburg College in 2005 both in honor of Lee Fowler and to encourage student-athletes at Louisburg to be scholar-athletes. The Lee Fowler Scholar-Athlete Awards are awarded to all varsity student-athletes who earn a semester average of 3.0 or higher.  The awards are named in honor of Lee Fowler, Director of Athletics at North Carolina State University. Student-athletes receive awards based upon the following criteria:

Gold……….………………...four-point average
Silver……..three-point five or greater average
Bronze……......three-point or greater average

For 2009, ten Fowler Scholar-Athletes earned 4.0 averages; thirty-four Fowler Scholar-Athletes were on the dean’s list, and sixty-five Fowler Scholar-Athletes were on the honors’ list.

Tymir Williams-Park Places 7th At NJCAA Region X Meet - Oct. 26, 2009

Congratulations to Tymir Williams-Park for his 7th place finish at the NJCAA Region X Meet. The Region X Meet was held in Lexington, Kentucky on October 26th, 2009. Tymir is the first Hurricane to place in the top 10 at a Region X Meet.
