The Louisburg College Cheerleading and Dance Teams are very excited to be in the process of redeveloping their programs. We are holding high expectations to build a program that is equal to the nation's elite. If you are a cheerleader or dancer who strives for excellence, then Louisburg College may be for you. Our programs’ priorities are set to raise the level of enthusiasm and spirit for Hurricanes’ Athletic programs, to serve as representatives of the College, and to be role models for the community. Please carefully review the information on this website regarding try-out requirements and the dedication and commitment that is expected of both teams. TRY-OUT INFORMATION AND FORMS FOR 2009-2010
Cheerleading and Dance try-outs have been rescheduled for Monday August 24th from 5:15-7:30 & Tuesday August 25th from 5:30 p.m. until completed. Try-outs will be held in the Norris Theatre. Reminder, an
up-to-date physical is required. Physical forms are available HERE.
2009-2010 CHEERLEADING AUDITION INFORMATION
- Students MUST be currently enrolled at Louisburg College and maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average
- Candidates MUST attend all dates in order to try-out
- Candidates will be judged on their basic cheerleading skills, such as motions, voice projection, dance ability, jumps (including double toe-touches), and tumbling
- Although tumbling skills are NOT REQUIRED, they are highly recommended
- All returning Louisburg College Cheerleaders must re-audition for the 2009-2010 squad; no spaces are guaranteed
- Practices are held a minimum of three nights per week not including game days or performances/appearances
- Try-Out Packets & Applications will be available online shortly
2009-2010 DANCE TEAM AUDITION INFORMATION
- Students MUST be currently enrolled at Louisburg College and maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average
- Candidates MUST attend all dates in order to try-out
- Although previous dance experience is NOT REQUIRED, candidates will be judged on basic dance technique including Double and/or Triple Pirouette Turns, Leaps (Grand Jete, Leap in Second, Switches, etc.), Jump/Turn Combinations (Chaine to Grand Jete/Leap in Second), Turn Combinations, and their ability to remember difficult choreography
- Practices are held a minimum of three nights per week, not including game days or performances/appearances
- Try-Out Packets & Applications will be available online shortly
