Financial Checklist for 2014-2015

The following information will guide you through the admission and financial aid application process:

✔____ Complete the online application to apply to Louisburg College. Pay your $25.00 application fee.

✔____ Apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) for yourself, and if you are a dependent student, ask that your parents apply for a SEPARATE PIN, at This will allow you and your parents to apply for financial aid online.

✔____ Once accepted, if you have not already done so, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible after January 1st of a given year. Our school code is 002943. By including the school code, Louisburg College will receive the results automatically.

✔____ Be sure to research local financial aid sources with your high school, community, church, parent's employers, student's employers and check out these helpful scholarship search engines such as:,,,,,, and Please be aware of scholarship scams, we do not encourage the use of scholarship services that require fees.

✔____ Review your award letter. After Louisburg College receives the report generated from your FAFSA, known as the Student Aid Report (SAR), your financial aid award letter and package will be prepared. Our Financial Services Office will compile all of the aid and/or scholarship monies for which you are eligible to receive in this financial aid award letter. We will mail you your financial aid award letter and package. NOTE: Be sure you read through this package thoroughly and return all of the necessary documents by their deadlines. If you lose any of these documents, you can refer to them on our website under FORMS.

✔____ Deposit - Please send your resident deposit of $200.00 or $100.00 commuter deposit to: Louisburg College, Office of Admissions, 501 N Main Street, Louisburg, NC 27549.

✔____ If you have been selected for Verification, submit your Verification Worksheet and supporting documents as soon as possible.

✔____ In order to take advantage of your Federal Direct Loans, you must first complete your Entrance Counseling and complete your Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at

✔____ Parents of dependent students can also complete the Direct Parent PLUS Loan process at Complete the Direct Parent PLUS Loan application and your Master Promissory Note (MPN) to finish this process.

✔____ Alternative Loans - Should you require funding in addition to the financial aid award, you may apply for an alternative loan. A separate application with a bank or educational lending service is required. (ex.

✔____ Complete your FERPA Agreement Form. All students must complete this form if you wish to discuss financial aid or account information via telephone or email. Parents of dependent students who inquire about student account information will be asked to provide this code as well.

✔____ NORTH CAROLINA STUDENTS ONLY! Students receiving the NC Need-Based Scholarship must complete the NC Need-Based Scholarship Application to confirm state of NC residency.

✔____ Male students between the age of 18 and 26 are required to register with Selective Service in order to receive Federal and State assistance. Register for selective service at
