Academic Life student studying in library, professor helping student

STEP IN... to a community where learning is an act of exploration. As a two-year residential college, we focus on getting students ready for the next step to a four-year school offering baccalaureate degrees. Many of our students are not sure what academic major they want to pursue. That's quite all right. We give our students a broad exposure to a variety of academic disciplines, letting them freely explore until they find the right fit. As one of our professors often says, "I teach the student first, not the academic discipline."

Louisburg College has comprehensive transfer agreements with many public and private colleges and universities, including the 16 branches of the University of North Carolina system, that allow Louisburg College graduates to make a seamless transition upon entering four-year schools as full-fledged juniors. Our academic preparation is strong, as witnessed by the success of our graduates. Some go on to private schools like Duke or Wake Forest. Our top five transfer schools are East Carolina University, North Carolina State University, UNC Chapel Hill, UNC Wilmington and Barton College.
