We all have gifts. We help you develop yours so you can move on to
the next level.
Our academic preparation is strong and most of our students go on to
four-year North Carolina schools, including private institutions like
Duke and Wake Forest. Our prime transfer school is North Carolina
State; second is East Carolina. But we have Articulation Agreements
including Division III schools.
Ninety-two percent of our graduates go on to four-year institutions
and 90% of them complete their undergraduate education. Nationally,
only about a fourth of students who enter a four-year institution
straight out of high school graduate. Our students have a better
chance of earning a four-year degree by coming here first, then
stepping on up.
Here's a story that epitomizes what we do: The current chairman of
our board of trustees first went to Duke and flunked out. (He loves
to tell this story.) He says he came to his senses when he was
working at Sears and he realized that he wanted more out of life. He
came to Louisburg College, got the personal attention he needed,
went on to senior college and graduated. Now he's a CPA with his own
large accounting firm in Durham, NC, and serves as chairman of our
board.
That's what we mean when we say we help each student achieve his or
her potential. It's not that we lower the bar... we give students
the support they need so they can become successful.
Now that's a great mission.
